Under App Setup-- Create--Objects, i created one object, which is called "Order Hisotry", with in it, i've also created several field. Price/kg, amount, Total $. When i first created, i set it up to "required" field, but it is not auto calculate. (because i dont know how in the beginning.), so i just let all sales manully calcualte the number and put it in for Total $, but now seems it always happen that sales gets the wrong number.
1. Can some one teach me how to set this "Total $" field as auto calculate by the other two fields.
2. I have a certain amount of data already, if change/add formula to this "Total $", would my old data be gone?

You will want a formula field. The formula will be easy. Not sure your exact field names but it will be something like. price__c * amount__c
But this will have to be a new field. After you are happy with the results you can remove the old field.
