We have a staff person who has been tasked with managing our ED's calendar. He is using Google Calendar and it is syncing with Salesforce's calendar. We know how to create events on his calendar, but is there a way to utilize the meeting request feature? From what I see, we can only use meeting request for our own personal calendars, not another users.

If you are ok using the Google interface to manage invites and guest responses, you can have the assistant create the event on the ED calendar and invite others. The invitee information is synced to Salesforce using Cirrus Insight. Not exactly what you're wanting, but it does end up with the information in salesforce (and Cirrus is dead simple to use).
