Can I display a report on my home screen?

I want to display a simple report on my home screen that shows a list of current fiscal year opportunities with the account name, a date field, stage status field and a currency field (one column for each field). It's a very easy report to construct, but not easy to create a dashboard to display it on my homescreen. Is there a solution, or am I limited because these are not numeric fields?

 

Old forum posts seem to indicate this is a silly limitation of the Salesforce platform.

    Hey Jeremy,

     

    If you ever liked that then just do:

     

    1. Go to Setup | Customize | Home | Home Page Components.

     

    2. Click New on the Custom Components section.

     

    3. Select HTML Area and name it as 'Reports' and click Next.

     

    4. Select Component Position as 'Wide (Right) Column'.

     

    5. On the Formatting Controls toolbar, look to the top right and find Show HTML and then check the same.

     

    6. Enter the following HTML:

     

       <iframe src="/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx?isdtp=mn" style="border:none; width:1024px; height:480px"></iframe>

     

       

     

       Note: Replace xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with 15-digit Id of your Report say 00O90000003w0yW.

     

    7. Click Save.

     

    8. Now go to Setup | Customize | Home | Home Page Layouts and Edit it.

     

    9. From Select Wide Components to Show section check the 'Reports'(our newly created home page component) option.

     

    10. After clicking Next, decide the Order of display in the Wide (Right) Column.

     

    11. Click Save.

     

    Go to your Home tab and see what you have done and be proud!
