We have a custom object that has a lookup to the Account object. When we click the "New" button within the lookup dialogue, it defaults to the standard Account page layout/record type. However, we have multiple Account record types and would like to be able to choose from them. Is there a way to enable this choice rather than it defaulting to a page/record type we don't even use?

Hi Blair,
It looks like you have set that record type as "Default". Go to the User profile and rmeove that recrod type from Default. You would be able to see option to select recrd type.
Another, reason can be is the Profile don't have access to other record types.
