Is there a way to convert case to opportunity?

Is there a way to create a custom button for the Case Page Layout to essentially convert a case into an Opportunity. In a way that our users would just click on the button and a new Opportunity is created transferring the essential information from the Case into the Opportunity?

If the above is not possible, I'd really appreciate some direction on the best way to handle this. Thanks.
