So, I know the limitation here, I'm really more interested in whether anyone can give a good reason as to why the limit exists, or give an example of how the limit isn't problematic. Salesforce training suggests that "Category groups should be small/ predictable enough for people to easily understand what categories they contain".
That's all well and good, but I'm not sure I can wrap my head around a use case where that best practice can be satisfied and the limit of 3 active categories is actually useful. It would seem to me, that in order to keep Category Groups small and predictable, you would need more of them.
The other side of the coin is, if I'm limited to only 3 active groups, I would think the groups would need to be more all-encompassing, larger, and less predictable to get any sort of meaningful use out of them.
That said, I haven't had the opportunity to work on a Knowledge implementation, so it's possible that my mindset is flawed and there is plenty of utility in the 3 active category group limit.
Have you found this limit to be problematic in your implementations? Have you found that 3 category groups are enough, or more than enough? Are you as surprised by this limit as I am?
Thank you in advance!
