I have a WF Rule that uses PRIORVALUE but you cannot chose the Evaluation Criteria "created, and any time it’s edited to subsequently meet criteria". When I use the "created, and every time it's edited" it is firing off Tasks multiple times.

Why can't we use:"created, and any time it’s edited to subsequently meet criteria" with PRIORVALUE in the formula?

Formula Example:

AND(

     CONTAINS($RecordType.Name, "Order"),

     ISPICKVAL(Order_Type__c,"Firm Order") ,

     ISPICKVAL(PRIORVALUE(Order_Type__c), "Positional Order") ,

     NOT( ISPICKVAL(StageName, "Billed") ),

     NOT(INCLUDES(Payment_Type__c, "Fee Only")),

     NOT( ISPICKVAL(Standalone_Oppty_Type__c , "Maintenance")),

  OR(

     ISPICKVAL( Region__c ,"Southeast") ,

     ISPICKVAL( Region__c ,"Southeast GB") ,

     ISPICKVAL( Region__c ,"Southeast - Florida")

   )

    To handle this, I would try the ISCHANGED fn and then set the Evaluation Criteria : created and every time it's edited.

    Like this:

    AND(

         CONTAINS($RecordType. Name , "Order"),

         ISCHANGED( Order_Type__c ),

         ISPICKVAL( Order_Type__c ,"Firm Order"),

         ISPICKVAL(PRIORVALUE( Order_Type__c ), "Positional Order"),

         NOT(ISPICKVAL( StageName , "Billed")),

         NOT(ISPICKVAL( Standalone_Oppty_Type__c , "Maintenance")),

         NOT(INCLUDES( Payment_Type__c , "Fee Only")),

         OR(

             ISPICKVAL( Region__c ,"Southeast") ,

             ISPICKVAL( Region__c ,"Southeast GB") ,

             ISPICKVAL( Region__c ,"Southeast - Florida")

         )

    )

    This would not trigger for every update on the record rather just on the update of the Order Type field and in effect the WFR runs only once!
