Hi,

We are currently starting to migrate to Lightning.  One of the first things we did was convert all of our attachments to Files.  We use email-to-case heavily.

In our email-to-case settings, I checked the box that would save any incoming attachment as a File.  I noticed that with that box checked, those files do not have any file extensions.  So when our users try to forward an email from a case with attachments, those attachments don't carry over.

Does anyone know why this setting doesn't work and if there is a workaround?  I can't imagine Salesforce would release something that doesn't work.

Magic Mover is a really useful tool for getting the migration under way - we used this internally. You also have to remember to update all the Page Layouts.
