Hello folks. I have run into this challenge again and I have never been successful in making this scenario work. I can use some help and direction.
Scenario1:
When User A looks at Accounts, the highlights panel needs to show the fields that apply to the Sales Team
- User A is in Sales group and needs to see Account Name, Account Phone, # of Employees and Type of Account fields in highlights section
- User A is assigned to Custom Sales profile
Scenario 2:
- User B is in Sales Operations group and needs to see Account Name, Account Phone and Parent Account fields in highlights section
- User B is assigned to Custom Sales Operations Profile
I want to show two different highlights panel sections on the Accounts page layout. The way I am trying to do this is create two Lightning page layouts for the two profiles. I also have two compact layouts for Sales and Sales Operations. I can not assign the Sales Compact layout to the Sales Lightning page layout as with Compact Page Layout assignments, I can only assign one primary compact layout and that is what the Lightning Page Layout is using. I have attached a screen shot with behavior and my notes.
I had this issue with a client ORG earlier this year and I decided not to go this route as I could not find a good way to accomplish this. I abandoned this concept. I am revisiting this again. What am I doing wrong? Can some one give me the exact steps on what I have to do to assign two different compact layouts to two different Lightning Page layouts? Thank you so much.
My ah ha moment was that highlights panel is tied to record types and so I can not assign it to profiles. I wanted to assign it by profiles so I can get different fields on the highlights panels for different groups of people with different Lightning page layouts. Instead I am forced to create record types for scenarios where the business process is exactly the same. Please vote for this idea to allow us to do that. I hope this helps.
