We are facing the exact problem. I did create a case#16516720 with Salesforce Support team but did not get the satisfactory answer yet. It got closed based on people availability. Let me explain what we did. We did customize the Opportunity creation for internal users. By defaut the standard Opportunity creation modal window (dialog box) is little bigger and clean. Whereas when we customize it looks small and ugly. I would like to set the exact size of the standard window for custom modal window too. If anyone has answer do let me know.
