Hi Ivan, Big post.. buckle up!!! You do not need certifications to become a developer. It's learning and practice that matters along with hands on experience on couple of projects which will give you the confidence to take up more challenging tasks. Having said that, certifications do provide you a way to showcase your skills and in most cases a certified professional will be considered over a non-certified one. But at the end of the day, your work matters!!
If you want to start off your salesforce journey, then start with admin/config part and then you can move to the coding/customization part. For that I would suggest you start off with Associate Trailmix and attempt the Salesforce Certified Associate certification once you are familiar with the platform and its offerings. https://trailhead.salesforce.com/users/strailhead/trailmixes/prepare-for-your-salesforce-certified-associate-credential After this you can try the Admin Trailmix (some sections would already be covered in Associate link above) https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/trails/force_com_admin_beginner And the Developer Trailmix after that https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/trails/force_com_dev_beginner
And you can also do some projects to get more hands on experience and understanding of real time projects.
After all this you might want to attempt the Salesforce Certified Admin and/or the Salesforce Certified Platform Developer 1 Certifications.
Hope this helps you in getting started on your Salesforce journey. And to reiterate "Certifications are NOT required to gain knowledge". Start small and over time with practice you'll grasp the concepts. Please mark the answer as the Best answer if you found it useful. Do let me know if you need any more help on this.
