Hoping someone can help with this - its an increasingly big issue. We have an old workflow rule that automatically updates the Opp Close Date when an opportunity stage moves to Closed Won. this works only if we dont edit deals after closing but our business is such that contracts get revised, dates and budget get changed all the time after closing. To accommodate this, we have two additional stages - Revision - which allows operations team to edit a closed won opportunity and Approvals stage which is set when changes are being reviewed and approved. Once finance approves, the opportunity stage is automatically flipped back to Close Won and this is when the close date updates to an arbitrary future date (perhaps 30 days from revision date? unless the start date is less than 30 then it sets it to the date before). I need the close date to remain fixed to the initial Closed Won date.
seems the close date also changes when an admin edits and saves the opportunity (without going through Revision-Approvals>Closed Won workflow). Current logic doesnt seem to work. I'm open to creating a secondary closed date field if that helps.
There is nothing default like that, no. Legacy WFR/Process Builder/Flow would be my guess (or Approval Process Rejection or Submission action if you're using APs).
