I have been testing around a bit and noticed that when I create a Customer Help Centre via the Service Setup menu, the template is set by default and I am not able to create a template from scratch.

 

If I create a Community through the Community menu, I can pick a DIY template and there are different lightning components. 

 

After also doing some research, I am started to wonder if it's not possible to create a custom template for the Help Centre. Can somebody confirm this or give me some pointers?

    Hi Peter, yes, that is pretty much what I was going for. I am trying to create a Customer Help Centre (Self-Service Portal) included in the Service Cloud licence (we don't have the additional Community Cloud licence) and was wondering if there was an option to build your own template. Going by your answer, there isn't.
