A question for the community: am I missing something? Do people find it as awkward as I do? Do people use Force.com to modify Community pages? What has been people's experience been around creating Communities?
Any and all thoughts are welcome.

The Napali template has come a long way, but prior to that the majority of "real" communities were built using Visualforce to fully customize the layout. Have you been through the implementation guide for some ideas?

There are lot of communities out there that look pretty impressive but they do require a fair bit of customization
