Our subscribers list includes some contacts for which the status is now "unsubscribed" but that due to technical issues have not been removed from the subscriber list. Currently, before a newsletter is sent out we manually filter out these contacts, but I was wondering if there was a way to permanently remove them from the data extension without Engineering effort.

What I am thinking is to export the records as .csv file, remove the rows, and re-import the file overwriting the data extension; is this a correct procedure? how will I know if these contacts have been permanently removed?

Any other suggestion?

    Hi Filippo,

As per my understanding, you are using marketing cloud in Salesforce. Let me know, if that's not the case.

I think what you can do is:

    1. Export all the subscribers including the status field of the Subscriber, or you can export only those subscribers whom you want to be unsubscribed.

    2. Modify the .csv file downloaded, and change the status field to "Unsubscribed" for those subscribers who wish not to receive the emails.

    3. Once done, import the file back using the import subscriber wizard

You can get more information about all the above steps at the below link:

    Best of luck !!

    Thanks
