Integration between salesforce to Apache Kafka

Need some help & suggestions:

We are working on a POC(Proof of Concept) for a customer. The requirement is to integrate salesforce with Apache Kafka server using streaming API.

By using the following code from Github https://github.com/jcustenborder/kafka-connect-salesforce we are able to push messages from salesforce to Kafka.

1. Please some one can help me how to push messages from Kafka to Salesforce using streaming API.

2. Please can you suggest best possible solutions to run the above github java (kafka-connect-salesforce) project in cloud.
