TPM to RE Promotion Transfer

Promotion transfer from TPM to RE is a fully automated process. Any changes in the source TPM promotion are reflected in the target RE promotion.

You can do a promotion transfer either in the same sales organization or a different one. Transferring promotions to the same sales org works only for projects with identical customer and product hierarchies because there is only one hierarchy in each sales org.

So, CG Cloud transfers promotions in the same sales org when the customer and product hierarchies are harmonized between TPM and RE. However, when CG Cloud transfers TPM promotions to a different customer or product hierarchy in RE, it transfers promotions to a different sales org.

When a KAM creates a promotion, CG Cloud transfers it from TPM to RE. The promotion is available in the RE desktop version when the async process is complete. The trade calendar view in CG Cloud shows the promotions for a product or a customer within a date range.

For mobile devices, the promotion is synchronized to the RE offline mobile app through the promotion batch process and the existing synchronization rules. The transferred promotion can drive other retail processes in the offline mobile app, such as surveys and order taking.

A headquarters manager can link the transferred RE promotions to activities or sales folders. Also, KAMs can analyze feedback such as the store's promotion participation or promotion compliance.

Adding customizable hooks to the promotion transfer process allows you to customize the business logic or the promotion fields transferred to RE. For information on the fields transferred during a promotion transfer, see Promotion Transfer Relevant Fields.

The promotion transfer process not only transfers the promotion header but also the following data.

  • Tactics
  • Tactic products
  • Salesforce files
  • Fields

You can create multiple RE promotions from a TPM promotion using multiple tactics. That is, you can create one RE promotion for each TPM tactic.

Things to Consider for Promotion Transfer

Not all TMP promotions are relevant for RE. KAMs must adhere to the following considerations to execute TPM to RE promotion transfer.

  1. The promotion transfer process is unidirectional from TPM to RE.
  2. A promotion transfer is successful when the anchor customer of the TPM promotion is mapped to an RE customer. The target RE tactic template is configured for the TPM promotion and at least one tactic in the TPM promotion is marked as transfer-relevant.
  3. Admins can select the TPM promotion type and tactic type to be transferred and mark them as transfer-relevant. They can also select the time frame for the promotion transfer and schedule the transfer in specific phases.
  4. KAMs receive a notification when the promotion transfer fails. The Salesforce admin can also receive the failure notification during the batch process.
  5. You can’t transfer TPM promotions with subaccounts, customer sets, or ​​TPM KPIs.
  6. You can’t transfer a promotion when none of the tactics is marked or updated as non-included.

Account Mapping and Product Mapping

KAMs must map accounts and products to execute a successful promotion transfer. Here are the details.

  1. The anchor customer of the TPM promotion is mapped to the target customer in RE. Both customers have the same transfer record identifier and are unique within a sales organization. KAMs update the transfer record identifier in the Customer Extensions object in CG Cloud.
  2. Tactic products are available for some transferable tactics in a TPM promotion. The TPM tactic product has a planning key mapping with the RE tactic product. A source product can have multiple target products if the TPM product planning key is mapped to multiple RE products. You can update the planning key field for products on the Products page in CG Cloud. You can also simultaneously transfer multiple products from a single tactic because each product is configured with its planning key.

Each promotion has some defined limits in the CG Cloud enhanced data model. Also, KAMs such as Gustavo adhere to certain transfer limits while transferring TPM promotions to RE. For more information, see Promotions Limits.
