Get to Know AppExchange NextGen Publishing

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand how to access the AppExchange Partner Console.
  • List the key features of the Partner Console.
  • Explain where and how to submit an AppExchange listing for approval.
  • Identify where to begin a solution’s security review.

What Is the AppExchange Partner Console?

The AppExchange Partner Console is the complete business management site for ISV partners and consultants with AppExchange listings. It includes AppExchange listings, technologies, analytics, and marketing.

Prep to Use the Partner Console

Any ISV partner or consultant can access the Partner Console. But you'll get the most out of the console if you’re working on a solution that you want to share with the Salesforce community, or you’re ready to publish a consultant listing.

If you’re listing a solution on AppExchange, here’s how to gauge if it’s ready to list.

Access the Partner Console

Accessing the Partner Console is simple.

  1. Log in to the Partner Community.
  2. Click Publishing. The Partner Community home page with a highlight on Publishing.

You’re automatically authenticated into the AppExchange Partner Console. How secure and fast!

Tour the AppExchange Partner Console

The AppExchange Partner Console homepage that includes Listings (1), Technologies (2), Notifications (3), a welcome message with a Company Info (4) link, Your Analytics (5), Your Listings (6) with two listing tiles, and Overview and Analytics subtabs

The AppExchange Partner Console home page is the default landing page. In the Partner Console, you create new listings, connect technology–such as your license management org or your managed package–to the console, and manage your in-progress and published listings.

Listings

Listings (1) is where you create new consultant and solution listings through the guided Listing Builder experience, submit your listings for approval, and publish them to AppExchange. Also, use Listings to manage your in-progress and published listings.

Technologies

Technologies (2) is an important component of the AppExchange Partner Console. It houses everything dealing with:

  • Technology that you connect to your solution, including your orgs, managed packages, and APIs
  • Optional, but encouraged, add-ons that help differentiate your listing like demos, test drives, and trial templates

In Technologies, you also start and manage the AppExchange required security review of Salesforce Platform packages, Marketing Cloud API solutions, and Salesforce Platform API solutions. Other solution types don’t need security review.

Notifications

Notifications (3) alert you to things you must fix or review on your in-progress listings.

Company Info

Any great AppExchange listing starts with accurate company details, such as company name, description, and contact details. Also use Company Info (4) to add logos to help your business stand out.

Your Analytics

Your Analytics (5) provides you with your solution’s performance metrics, such as tile views, tile hovers, and lead events. Also accessible from the Analytics subtab, use Analytics to check on how many potential customers have viewed your listing, have taken test drives, and more. These data help you improve your listing and attract the right mix of customers.

Your Listings

On the home page, Your Listings (6) displays up to four published listings or in-progress listings. Your published listing tiles show you a preview of exactly what your customers see on AppExchange. If you’ve more than four listings, click View All Listings to view your whole library of listings.
