Trailhead has helped me learn more about the Salesforce Platform, and that deeper understanding will only serve to make me a better MuleSoft Developer.
How has Trailhead become a part of your MuleSoft career?
I really love the concept of Trailhead. It's awesome to provide free, quality learning tools to help people get jobs in technology and business. While you might assume I'm only interested in badges for MuleSoft skills, I've actually earned quite a bit more. Trailhead has helped me learn more about the Salesforce Platform, and that deeper understanding will only serve to make me a better MuleSoft Developer.
How did you first learn about MuleSoft and Trailhead?
About 3 or 4 years ago, I started to explore MuleSoft when my company was evaluating it. Within an hour of research, I was able to write my initial “Hello World” API via Anypoint Studio. It was very user-friendly from the beginning. About 2 years ago, I discovered Trailhead at Dreamforce. At that time there was no MuleSoft content available, but I still saw the value right away. Now that MuleSoft content is available on Trailhead, it's like my two worlds have come together!
What words do you have for people interested in joining the Community?
Don't hesitate! MuleSoft skills are in high demand, and through the community you can not only make friends, talk to others about your questions, and learn new skills but also network and connect with recruiters and hiring managers. If in-person events aren't for you, you can go on the MuleSoft and Salesforce Developer forums to ask and answer questions for others in the community. It's great to engage, meet new people, and give back—and joining the community also keeps you up-to-date with your skills.
What does being a Trailblazer mean to you?
Being a Trailblazer means being a stronger leader who helps the larger group move forward. It means holding yourself accountable for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies while always giving back to the community.
How will MuleSoft be a part of your and your company's future?
I foresee MuleSoft being a part of my future for a long time to come. Currently, I work on Anaplan Connector in MuleSoft, which our customers use to integrate Anaplan and MuleSoft. We're also considering MuleSoft for our internal integrations to avoid the current pain points. Applications need to be connected quickly and easily, and for me that means utilizing MuleSoft.
How will Trailhead be a part of your and your company's future?
I have always used Trailhead as my source of learning for Salesforce. I turn to it whenever I come across something I don't understand or want to understand better. Our IT team, which manages our Salesforce instance, uses Trailhead not only to better understand Salesforce but also to grasp, step-by-step, the different ways that Salesforce and MuleSoft work together.
