I have a question related to FORECAST. #Forecast Type #Forecast Tab
I need to have a forecast by product (not by family), so I have not checked the group by family set up.
I have 2 issues. One, I'm not able to see the forecast split in products (only family group when the checkbox of family is true) and I'm not able to choose Quantity in any forecast type.
What setup did I miss?

Hello, our organization is currently using Collaborative Forecasts, but our sales team only forecasts on the first-year amount of a subscription contract. I’m able to add that custom field (formula) to the Opportunity list on the Forecast tab, but there is no way to adjust the Amount vs Quota to look at 1st Year Amount vs Quota. (For example, the full Opportunity amount for a 3 year subscription is $3000, but we forecast on only the first year, which would be $1000) Has anyone found a way to adjust this, or create a custom solution, or at the very least a report to show this type of forecast.
Temporary fix is to data load a monthly goal on the user record, coupled with an Opportunity report that can reference this user field. This means we do not use the Forecast tab and we have no historical record of previous monthly quotas.
Potential solution I've been playing with: Create a custom Quota object, then create a joined report between Quotas and Opportunities, with a cross block summary formula to get the % to quota based on the 1st year amount. This still doesn’t feel like an ideal solution.
Any ideas or experience in this area would be very helpful, thank you in advance!

I am facing an issue when I update any field on Opportunity on the Forecast tab. The spinner sign keeps rotation and never stops.

We just enabled collaborative forecasts in our org. We have everything working as expected except for rolling up quotas. I have a sales manager Lee who is in the forecast hierarchy as the sales manager and enabled as the manager. The sales team are below him in the forecast hierarchy and enabled as users. When he looks at this forecast tab the team's quota does not roll up as a sum for the year or a specific month. Lee is not assigned any quota of his own as he is just responsible for managing the team's quota. If he expands his view in the Forecast tab he can see each team member and their specific quota for that specific time frame. But the quota does not roll up to show the entire team's aggregated sum. Any suggestions?
Hi Steve, I need your help!!
The closed opportunities in the Forecast tab are defaulting to the wrong custom field on the opportunity.
For example, each of our opportunities has a contract value over 12 months field as well as a total deal amount that is based on the term of the contract. The number that is showing in the view is the Total Deal Amounts added up but this is incorrect as we want the contract value over 12 months field. Is there a way to have it point to the correct custom field? I have attached a screen shot. Thanks so much!
Ouch... unfortunately I don't have a lotta hand's-on working with the Forecasting Tab (we just don't use it)
Also, I'm about to hop on a plane to London's Calling this afternoon, so I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to take a deep dive into this
I've just enabled Lightning for my own profile and upon doing so I'm now missing the Forecast tab on my home page. In classic, under that app, I have forecast visible. Not sure why the sudden change for that particular object. How do I bring this back?
