I am using Desktop to test row level security I have implemented with a virtual Connection. Within the VC (on cloud), everything works as expected. In Desktop, I am connecting to the VC, and building some workbooks. In trying to test it by impersonating other users (via Filter as User), the user I am choosing does not seem to be going to the VC.
I have verified the workbook is accurately picking up the user i change to, by looking at the USERNAME(). However, even after refreshing the data, the data that is returned remains based on the original user i log into desktop as.
Any ideas?
Hi Mike,
Impersonating users gets needlessly complex as its largely hidden under the hood for most users. Have you considered asking for a dummy account to be created so that you can test it under VC conditions ?
