Hi all,

We have several Google Cloud Platform projects distinguished by market that we use as billing project on Tableau, for instance Tableau_UK, Tableau_IT, Tableau_FR etc.

We are willing to use Google Service Accounts as mapping key to identify the specific query costs associated to the several dashboards developed for each market within each billing project , for instance UK.dashboard1@serviceaccount.com , UK.dashboard2@serviceaccount.com, etc.

The idea is to embed the associated service account credentials (i.e. the JSON file) to each dashboard available on server.

However, in our context, the person in charge of creating and downloading the JSON file is not the same as the person who embeds the credentials to the Tableau dashboard. In turn, we are trying to understand if it were possible to integrate somehow the data source embedding credential window in Tableau Server with an external platform where the JSON file would be stored (i.e. VAULT).

Has someone already faced this same requirement?

Is it possible to integrate/connect the Data source credential panel to external web services? Perhaps via APIs

Do you have any alternative suggestion?

Thanks

    Hi Jennilyn,

This question has been open for a while without any responses - by any chance have you discovered anything further that might assist forums users to respond to your enquiry ?
