Hi all,
I am the new admin for a Salesforce org and am curious about how you fellow Admins go about starting/analyzing a new (operating) Salesforce environment.
My current plan:
- Review Security - Run Health Check, check any inactive users/licenses, review the current setup on roles/profiles, hierarchies, permission sets.
- Review Objects - Review usage of Standard/Custom Objects, # of records and their relevance, get a feel for validation rules, record types etc.
- 3rd Party Uses/Installed Packages - see if any packages lost relevance or would benefit from being removed
Anything I should add to my list on any other general strategies on how to approach getting started in a new Salesforce org?
Thanks!
Thomas

Hi @Thomas Love
This would be a good start as per Windyo in the Salesforce Reddit community. It breaks down the different areas of Salesforce well and could be used as a checklist.
