Highlights from Release Notes for NPSP Summer '22 (v3.219)

I read through the Release Notes for the Summer '22 Nonprofit Success Pack (version 3.219) and pulled out what might be the most relevant/interesting items for nonprofit organizations to know about and consider implementing.

Dodi's Highlights:

New “All Members Deceased” Checkbox field on Household

    ·  When the Deceased checkbox is selected on all Contacts within a Household, NPSP selects the All Members Deceased checkbox on the related Household Account. To make this visible to users, change field level security and add to page layout.

New “Sustainer” field on Accounts and Contacts for Recurring Donors

    ·  New “Sustainer” field indicates if an Account or Contact is an active, lapsed, or former recurring donor. Change field level security and add to page layouts for Accounts and Contacts.

“Tribute” Fields in Gift Entry/NPSP Data Importer

    ·  Tribute gift fields have been added to Gift Entry and NPSP Data Importer. The new fields on the NPSP Data Import object map to the Tribute fields on the Opportunity. If you have existing NPSP Data Import fields and mappings for the Opportunity tribute fields, we recommend deleting your old fields and mappings and use the packaged ones instead.

NPSP Data Importer Enhancements

    ·  New ability to select records to be processed from a list view. To use this, add the Import Selected Data Import Records button to your NPSP Data Import list views.

    ·  Improved handling of Opportunity Stages in NPSP Data Importer. When you have not set an Opportunity Stage on the NPSP Data Import record, NPSP Data Importer uses the value in NPSP Settings for Opportunity Stage When Fully Paid.

Relationship Viewer:

    ·  Fixed: issue with the Relationship Viewer page where users would receive a 404 error when clicking the "Re-center on this Contact" link.

    ·  New tabular view to Relationships Viewer, providing a version that is accessible to those who use screen readers. Tabular view is included in the current Relationships Viewer page, but you must enable it.

Guidance Center for Admins

    ·  Admins now see a little mountain icon for the Guidance Center – take a quiz to tailor the resources offered there, which include Trailhead modules, videos, Trailblazer Community, Help topics, In-app guidance, Internal links, and PDFs. There is new NPSP specific guidance so that admins of NPSP orgs can get information on preparation, implementation best practices, and customization options. Recurring Donations

    ·  New Recurring Donation Status automation settings in NPSP Settings so the Recurring Donation Status updates when a donor misses installment payments. Access must be granted to these settings.

    ·  New list view showing all Recurring Donations in the Recurring Donations tab. Display columns are Amount, Installment Period, and Next Payment Date.

    ·  When a user creates a Recurring Donation using the "New" button, NPSP redirects the user to the newly created record.

    ·  Fixed: if a Recurring Donation was created using the NPSP Data Importer, and with a Campaign defined, but no initial Opportunity defined, NPSP still created an initial Opportunity.

    ·  Fixed: an Open Recurring Donation could be considered Completed if the Number of Planned and Number of Paid Installments were both set to zero, which only occurred when modifying a Recurring Donation outside of the standard UI, such as through the Data Loader or Developer Console.

    ·  Fixed: Installment Number did not show when creating new Recurring Donations where the when Recurring Type is "Fixed" by default.

    ·  Fixed issue where certain Elevate-connected Recurring Donations could not be updated from NPSP.

Other Fixes and Enhancements

    ·  NPSP Settings - tightened security around access to.

    ·  Fixed: issue where some users were receiving a "Required fields are missing: Household_Account__c" or similar error when creating Contacts.

    ·  Deleted field mappings are now excluded when the default Gift Entry template is generated.

    ·  Many accessibility improvements made

Experience Cloud (formerly Communities) Donation Components

    ·  Two new Experience Cloud components that you can add to your donor site to display your donors’ hard credit giving history.
