Created Checkbox field

Question

I have created a checkbox field and I have set that field as checked but in records, it's not showing checked.   Thanks in advance

you set the default record to checked is what I think you are meaning. that only impacts new records at creation. all existing records will remain unchanged. (false if you just made the field)

Yeah because what if you already have records some true some false and then change the default… what should it do? Overwrite data? Or protect it? You can use data loader to update existing.
