My sysadmin's New Year's resolution: Clean up my database! Fields no longer used, Process Builder Processes no longer used or inactivated because they broke something once upon a time and need a little love before reactivation (never mind those that should really be Flows), installed packages no longer used (like, after a move between mass email systems), data changes in old records due to schema and picklist value changes (to make reports be more consistent between old and newer data) - and most of all: delete old reports - not used recently, used-once, no longer accurate due to schema changes, duplicate in functionality but with different names (you know, the "I forgot I made that report once upon a time" issue).
I am too overwhelmed by the length of the list, and too scared of breaking my users' functionality (functionality that I implemented in the first place!), to even start on my resolutions. I think I need sysadmin cleanup therapy. Any advice on how to gather the courage and just - get - started?
+1 for any kind of kanban view tracking this (and in addition to technical debt work, new feature requests/bugs/etc!). Trello works great, so does Asansa, or any other task management tool. I personally like Cases with a Global Action to create them so anyone can just brain dump at any point. You can use Tasks or a custom object too.
