Can you edit your post to include more detail? Is this an Event record like a Task / Event, or are you using campaigns for events, or a custom object? In Classic, are you creating the event through a standard process or through a custom Visualforce page? Is the email notification a standard function, or do you have workflow or process builder that are sending it? Can you post a screenshot of a test event creation in Classic just before you save it?
