I'm pilot testing Lightning Experience in my live production org and realized that I needed to be able to send URLs to my Classic colleagues. So I went and created a Lightning Component that will display the record ID as a Classy-friendly URL. You can do it too!

Thanks to @Katie McFadden for help in puzzling this out, @Ryan Ozimek and @Soapbox Engage App for publishing on their blog, and the Answers community for getting me the final few yards past the finish line.

Making the leap to Lightning on your own can feel like you're the only human on an island. Okay, it's a really hip island, but still, what's the fun of dancing alone? Here's a way to send smoke signal messages to your friends on the Classic UX island. Thanks @Michael Kolodner for sharing this resource!
