Curious to hear from others if they are experiencing the same thing as me. I am in Lightning, and creating a record for a Custom Object. When creating the record, there is a lookup field to another Custom Object. When I click into the lookup field and then choose the last option (the + sign to create a new record), instead of seeing the Lightning page when creating the new record (with the fields I put on the Lightning Page appearing), I am getting the Classic Page Layout for that record (which does not have the fields I want on it).

Thanks for chiming in on this @Abbey Harmon @Joan Jackson and @Jeffrey Kranz. I believe what Jeff pointed out is what I am running into. Since it seems that creating a new record from a lookup field in Lightning still uses the Classic Page Layout for the record rather than the Lightning Page for the record, we put a Validation Rule in place which identifies when this happens and blocks the person from creating the record.
