Hello,

My client is using LEX Service console and email-to-case. To improve email deliverability we successfully set up DKIM and wanted to configure SMTP Relay with Salesforce as well. I got all the information from my client's IT team that's necessary to set this up and configured it according to all the documentation I found.

However, as soon as it was activated in Salesforce, every single email failed. No auto-replies, no manually sent emails, no system emails were sent out for probably more than an hour.

For the email relay setup I used all information provided by the IT team, the Domain Filters were set up with the default wildcard for Sender and Recipient Domain (*) and I whitelisted all the IP addresses for Email relay mentioned in the article from Salesforce. I think I did everything I could but still, nothing worked.

The IT team saw in their email domain's log file that salesforce was not sending over a username for the relay - even though I added it to the relay in Salesforce.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work? Client is using Enterprise Edition and Gmail as their email inbox.

Also, is it possible to fully test this in Sandbox?

Just posting the solution here to close this thread. The problem was that there was no proper TLS certificate set up. Once the IT team changed this, Email relay worked like a charm.
