Create a formula field (text) by a picklist field value

I have a picklist field. It's values are percentage buckets. Based on a certain percentage bucket, I need to have another field (field 2) automatically populate with a certain text string. Based on field 2, I need to have another field (field 3) populate with a certain text string.

 

I am running professional edition (I know there are some limitations), but I was hoping for help here. I've tried everything I can think of without success.

 

Here's a visual of what I need (although a little messy)

    You can set up the 3 picklist fields with "Field Dependencies" feature.

     

    You have to set up 2 dependencies like this:

     

    1) Field 1 - Controlling Field, Field 2 - Dependent Field

     

     

    2) Field 2 - Controlling Field, Field 3 - Dependent Field
