Is it possible to add attachments to a HTML email template sent as an email alert?

Currently we have email alerts sent when a new opporunity is created. Users save documents in the "Google Docs, Notes, & Attachments" section of a new opporunity. Is is possible to have these attachments be included in the email alert?
