Hello,

Our leads are not people, they are companies. Does anyone else handle their leads the same way? Just curious how you add the Leads to Salesforce and what fields you have. We are a supply chain management company.

thanks

    Hi Sydney -

Typically when Leads are not people, and you're tracking Conversations with multiple people at a Lead, you're better off avoiding the Lead Record.  You can utilize Record Types on the Account Object - Lead Account and Customer Account, etc... You an have different Page Layouts, a Path Component, a Lead Status and then use automation to flip the record type to act as a Lead Conversion would.  Creating multiple Contacts and then relating them to the Lead sounds very confusing for the end users, and also may cause you to lose Activity History.
