I think what I need is a Quick Action

Question

I would like to create the ability to complete a form while remaining in the current record. Similar to creating a new account from an Opportunity. While this may not be difficult the logic just isn't clicking with me. Any thoughts or points in the right direction would be appreciated.

You can recreate the form using Flows,Visualforce or Custom Lightning Component. And then launch it using a quick action.

When you say a form, so you mean a form or creating a new related record of some sort? If you're referring to a related record, a flow interview with a component on the page (assuming you're using Lightning) seems like the most straightforward approach.
