Increasing a grade of a student by 1 each year

We add contacts of Kindergarten to Grade 12 students into our database for recruiment purpooses - I work with a university. Is there a way to auto increase the "grade" of the student each year until the student reaches Grade 12, and then the following year have a final value such - Graduated. I'm sure there is some simple code I can use for this. Help!

    Hi Theeban, 

     

    Assuming you have a large amount of students, this is probably something you'd want to implement in a scheduled batch Apex class. Winter 20 will feature scheduled flows which youight be able to use instead if your student count is in the hundreds or under. 

     

    If you have their starting year, you may also be able to calculate this with a formula field.
