can we pass values from one page to another using console primary subtab(I can able to do with normal tab)

Question

we have one Visual force page let say vf1 and it is having some fields and comand button and we have one more vf page vf2,so when a call comes vf1 page will open up in consle tab and let say user filled up all the fields and clicked on commandbutton and it will redirect to vf2 and let say user clicked on cancel or save it will again redirect to vf1 with all the values intact whatever user filled before clicking on command button in all the fields ,this functionality is working fine when we are opening that vf2 page in normal window but not able to do when we are trying to open vf2 into primary tab
