I have a product that has multiple factors that can impact the price. I have added a picklist on the Opportunity for these factors - Yes or No and now I need to write a formula to make sure that if No is selected the product price is updated in the quote.
Example:
Widget $500
However, if Widget is purchased and Hosting is No, widget price is $350

If you go the route of validation rules with multiple products you could also look into different price books and do a validation rule based on price book used. You could then have the same products but different prices based on the price book used.
