How can I make sure the data from the app transfers to the inherent NPSP fields? 

I have an installed app from Kell in which the features are now inherent to NPSP. We are switching to Lightning which seems like a good time to drop the unnecessary app. How can I make sure the data from the app transfers to the inherent NPSP fields?

    Hi Holly,

     

    This sounds like a bit of data transformation is required.  

     

    For example say on an Opportunity record we have two fields.  

    • Contact Lookup (custom field from Kell in)
    • Primary Contact Lookup (custom field from NPSP)

    At the moment the contact lookup is populated but the primary contact lookup isn't.

     

    The steps to move the data would required exporting the data and then importing the data as an update where the data currently in Contact Lookup is mapped to the Primary Contact field.  Meaning the record will now have both fields populated with the same data but then if you remove the app and app fields you know the data is safely stored in the NPSP or other custom fields.
