I have an custom object which reports are built again. The data in the object is like this.
Product Name Month Sale
Product A 01/01/2014 $1000.00
Product A 02/01/2014 $2000.00
Product A 04/01/2014 $4000.00
Product B 01/01/2014 $1000.00
Product B 03/01/2014 $3000.00
Product B 04/01/2014 $4000.00
When creating summary report grouped by Product Name, I want all possible Months' listed even though there is no sale record in that month.
The report is expected to like this:
Product A
01/01/2014 $1000.00
02/01/2014 $2000.00
03/01/2014 $0.00 -- this line drops off in the actual report
04/01/2014 $4000.00
Product B
01/01/2014 $1000.00
02/01/2014 $0.00 -- this line drops off in the actual report
03/01/2014 $3000.00
04/01/2014 $4000.00
Is it possible to generate the report without adding zero sale records to the custom object?

No, a Report will only display data/values, if there is no record for that date period there is nothing to display.
