I was hoping to get some help from the community. What I want to do is create a dashboard that tracks the total number of accounts every month over a two year period. To do this I think that I need to use Reporting Snapshots, but im not sure how to get this to work as I only need to know the count of accounts snapshotted every month. Does anyone know how to do this and would they be able to guide me through this. Would be a huge help!

I have a report that shows the number of new accounts per month based on created date. I was hoping to get a report which would be the total in each month. So it was say in Jan there were 1000 total accounts and then in Feb there were 50 new accounts so the dashboard would show 1050. Does that make sense?
From my reseach it looks like Reporting Snapshots is what i need, but i just dont understand quite how it works from the Salesforce help guide.
