Is there any way to get rid of parent account in group edition of salesforce?

I don't need the field and I want to remove it, and Salesforce won't let me remove it from the page layout.  I would go to field level security and set the field as not visible for all users, but saleforce won't let me do that in group edition.  Is there anything else I can do to get rid of the field?

    No "Parent Account" is a mandatory field, it can't be removed from the page layout.  Mandatory field are indicated by a blue dot in the Page Layout editor.  

     

    Or as the old SFDC Admin saying goes "If it's blue you're screwed"
