Duplicate field on a page layout

Hi, on my Account page layout I want to have a custom field (called Department) appear 3 times on the layout.  Is this possible?  It seems that once you have added a field to the page layout, it is greyed out and you cannot add it again

    No. Each field can only appear 1 time on a page layout.  However, you can create 2 custom formula fields that reference the 'real' Department field so you have the same value to be displayed in 3 places.  The API Names of the fields have to be different, but the labels could be the same -- as long as it doesn't create confusion for anyone.
