Hello,

I am wondering if there's any way to move a profile to a different license type. Our organization has 10 free, full CRM Salesforce licenses through the nonprofit deal. We are preparing to buy 67 more licenses for our staff as we prepare to roll out Salesforce. We are purchasing a variety of licenses-some will be full force.com licenses (no access to CRM objects) and we'll have a few Enterprise App licenses (in addition to our full CRM licenses).

I didn't realize that profiles were tied to a certain license type. I built several custom profiles early on to test out for our staff. Now as we anticipate licensing our staff, I realized most of these profiles I built I won't be able to use because the user will have a different license type. This is my error, but I am a bit bummed because I spent a lot of time editing object and field permissions. Many of the profiles I built will still fit within the limits of the license types in terms of custom objects/tabs, etc.

I am guessing the answer to this is no but figured it couldn't hurt to ask-is there any way to move a profile to a different license type? I am just crossing my fingers there's some way to not redo the work I've done, but I know it may be a long shot.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Hello Blair,

Profile license field is not accessible through dataloader. the profile license field is not editiable, when you create a new profile, it use the existing profile license.

So the answer is no if you wanted to profile license from profile level.
