B is the master object where a picklist field resides called Brands.
Object A can have multiple records associated to this object B and each object A record has to have GL#. I tried to create a formula field on Object A to just pull over the Brands field onto this page so that I could then create a field dependency and only show the users the GL#'s on that picklist that should be available for each brand vs just one LONG list of all GL#'s for all brands.
When I tried to do this I got a syntax error due to this Brands field that lives on the Master record being a picklist field type. What is the workaround for this (or is there one)?

GL field is a different picklist field.
So the goal is on object A I'd pull the Brands picklist field from the master B record. Then setup a field dependency on A that only shows certain GL numbers in the GL picklist field depending on what Brand value is selected from that picklist. Make sense?
