So we are getting ready to use our de-duping tool to start de-duping contacts in our system and there is one user that is going to be performing the de-duping. We have quite a few workflow rules that trigger email alerts to our contacts as a result of updates being made to their contact records. In order to PREVENT these from triggering for ones that are being updated solely due to the merging being performed by this user, I updated all applicable workflow rules to have this additional criteria:

AND ((Contact: Created ByNOT EQUAL TO005F0000004E3Rq)

OR (Contact: Last Modified ByNOT EQUAL TO005F0000004E3Rq))

As we do NOT want any contact emails to go out that are triggered by this user performing the de-duping. The problem is, it's still firing the email alerts when we've run a few tests.

The evalution criteria is setup to evaluate the rule when a record is created, and any time it's edited to subsequently meet criteria.

What am I doing wrong? How do I prevent these emails from firing off?
