Getting activity tasks from account related to opportunity.

When I add activity tasks for opportunity they are also automatically added to account activity task list. For test purposes I'm checking if they were created in both places. My query (Select ... from Task) seems to work for opportunity (I provide whatId), but doesn't work for account (returns null), although it works if I create an activity in account non related to anything. I guess physically records are added only to opportunity and those which show in account are somehow of a "view".

 

Is there a way to test that with creation of tasks in opportunity, those same tasks are created for account?

    When a Task is associated with an object, like Opportunity, it automatically shows up in the Activity List for the Account associated with the Opportunity.  No need to test.  If you want to see if the Task is associated directly to an Account, check the AccountID field.
