Has anyone ever successfully implemented the use of Path AND also Lightning's custom Theme and Branding functionality with their organization's colors without altering the default Path colors? It is beyond me why whoever designed Path and/or Theme & Branding decided to link the two functionalities.

Our colors are red, yellow, and dark grey - you can imagine that having red and dark grey path is not very friendly or helpful status bar to have. And all of the ideas I have found are no where near being in development so I'm curious if anyone has had any success with customizing on their own or if anyone from SF has an update on when we can expect to have Path and Theme & Branding de-linked.
