We have a strange issue : Notes&Attachments attached using Lightning are not working as it should. Our sales team attach PDFs on the Opportunity. While they were on Classic view, these used to show as Type: 'Attachment' and we would click on 'View' to see the document. They were also showing under Accounts Notes and Attachments.
Since sales team started to attach PDFs using lightning, document attach as Type: File - These also do not transfer to Account screen anymore.
See below, 2nd line is an attachment prior to lighting which shows as Attachment, you can 'View' it and it also shows under Account and Opportunity
1st line is an attachment post lightning, shows as File - has Preview or Download option and does not transfer under Accounts

@Ayda Blyton There are a few app exchange options to show files attached to child records on the account.
Doug Ayers has an open source solution which you can try to use is as, or else develop to customize as needed:
