We know driving adoption is hugely important to your role as a Salesforce Admin, and moving to Lightning is quickly becoming just as important. The key to a successful adoption program is being able to track your success. Salesforce is making that easier for you with the Lightning Usage App. Whether you’re looking for a quick way to measure your org’s Lightning Experience usage or want insights on how your users are working in Lightning Experience, this app can help you monitor progress and make informed decisions.

It’s easy to get started because the app is free and available right from the App Launcher in Lightning Experience. Simply click the App Launcher icon in the navigation bar, type Usage in the search box, then click Lightning Usage.

The app tracks many key metrics, with charts for:

  • Daily and monthly active users in Lightning Experience and the Salesforce app

  • Daily and monthly switches to Salesforce Classic (total number of switches and the number of unique users that switched)

  • Profiles and users that switched to Salesforce Classic the most

  • The standard in Lightning Experience that are viewed the most

  • Types of browsers used in Lightning Experience

For more details about the Lightning Usage App, see "Get Insight into User Activities with the Lightning Usage App" in the Salesforce Summer ‘18 Release Notes (https://sfdc.co/2nywX). And stay tuned for even more metrics and options, coming in the near future.
