File Extensions in Files
Is there any way to show file extensions in Files? They are visible with Attachments, but not Files.
Business Case: our finance team use Nintex DocGen to consolidate attached receipts, (.pdfs, .jpgs, .msgs etc) into a single pdf file to hand over to the client. DocGen can't process .msg files, so the team have made a visual check of the file before including/excluding in the consolidation - without visibility to file extensions, this is now a lot more time-consuming.
Is there a switch to turn on visibility of the file extensions?
One indicator to speed up the process could be the absence of the "preview" option from the related list. A .msg file would not have a preview but pdfs and jpgs will (in a small percentage of cases, the preview could fail for these types).
To your original question, there isn't a feature to enable the extension, however, a trigger could be created so when a file is uploaded, it will update the title of the document to include the extension.
